Kuhns Birth of the Living Dead provides a cultural and historical analysis originated through filmmaker George A. Romero’s movie The Night of Living Dead (1968). The credibility of this content is affirmed with the full participation of George Romero. Romero conveys the many elements of political strife in the late 1960’s. Such strife helped Romero formulate the notion of the undead and other period-based taboos introduced in his film.

Conversational in tone, the film provides a balanced stream of file photos, archival footage, studio interviews and animated renderings from The Night of the Living Dead. Birth of the Living Dead ought to be utilized for study within the social sciences and is most appropriate for both academic and public libraries, more specifically academic and public libraries near the geographic region of Pittsburgh, PA.
