Occupational Profiles 2 is part of a 9 video series. Video 2 covers Health Care, Animal Care, and Cosmetology. The first segment contains interviews with workers in home health care, hospitals, nursing homes, and nannies. They are all realistic portrayals including the rewards and challenges of working with actual patients. They sensibly suggest to viewers who are thinking about entering Health Care to volunteer for local organizations to see if the field is appropriate for them. Segment Two, Animal Care, includes interviews with horse jockeys, horse walkers and groomers, kennel attendants, and dog groomers. All love what they do, but candidly describe the long hours and extra responsibilities that go with the jobs. The Cosmetology section profiles product sales, a make up artists, skin care and hair color technicians, and a pleasant surprise, a hearing-impaired hair stylist. They describe the skills needed to be attracted to their field. Except for the cartoon graphic sequences that add little and ultimately distract, Occupational Profiles 2 is straightforward and informative. Recommended for school and public libraries.
