This documentary on the life and art of Edna Hibel is brief and well done. Born in 1917, in Boston, MA, we follow her life in clear, old black-and-white pictures, through commentary from her granddaughter, and interviews with Edna and family and friends. Viewers see how Edna’s life experiences and travels shaped her art and artistry. Examples of her oil paintings, watercolors, lithographs, serigraphs, and giclee prints are beautifully photographed and showcased. Edna supported many humantarian causes throughout her life as well as artistic and cultural endeavors. The film highlights pivotal events in an extraordinary, inspiring life.

Video technique and effects are outstanding though the sound is not always clear. Editing was judicious and effective resulting in a film suitable for adults of all ages. Academic and public libraries should purchase to inspire artists, women, and humanitarians.
