Does global warming exist? The evidence presented in this video indicates it does and that it is having serious negative effects.

Two different cultures a half a world away from each other are feeling the effects of climate change. While those in the Arctic lose an ice pack that supports the wildlife they depend upon for food, people in the South Pacific must deal with a rising sea level brought on by the melting ice. Both are forced to adapt to the consequences of a practice over which they have no control: the burning of fossil fuels.

This excellent documentary vividly shows the viewer some of the significant impacts of global warming. In the Arctic the food chain is very short. Therefore, any changes have great effect. In the Marshall Islands the average elevation is around six feet, so a small rise in sea level can reduce livable space significantly.

The Kyoto Protocol was considered a way to slow down the impacts global warming on the land but it was not ratified by the strongest global power, the United States. One can sense the feelings of hopelessness and bewilderment of the subjects. Their lives are being changed drastically and few people seem to care.

Highly recommended.
