This 2-disc set is quite complete in its scope. Tai Chi Master Instructor Joey Bond and his assistants demonstrate a variety of tai chi poses beginning simply and working up to more complicated moves by the end of the second disc. Bond breaks each posture, or form, down to its separate movements, and then combines them for the complete move, with time to practice. Each posture builds on the next, and the detailed instructions are easy to follow. It would be hard not to learn tai chi with this program.

Each new form is introduced by Bond, together with relevant sound bytes about the benefits of tai chi practice. His speaking voice is very professional, calm and even-toned, reminding this reviewer of Casey Kasem, both in vocal quality and word selection (“let’s put the Peking Puzzle together” or “let’s observe the classical stylings of Wave Hands Like Clouds...”). Broadcast on PBS, this quality production will make a good addition to academic library collections in exercise science and holistic health as well as general adult collections in public libraries.
