The title of this production is, to say the least, rather misleading. This sympathetic portrayal of the relatively few Israeli reservists who refuse to serve in the West Bank or Gaza is well done, but to call these men THE conscience of Israel is somewhat presumptuous and open to debate. The work begins with an older veteran berating these men and continues with depictions of their protests, support for those imprisoned, as well as interviews with them. They certainly are a group of gutsy guys. There are also interviews with those Israel Defense Force soldiers who do not hold the refusers in such high regard. The sound and picture are good. Graphics for title and subtitles are passable. This narrowly focused work will do fine as supplementary material for those who wish to study the current conflict in the Middle East.
