Not many nineteen-year-olds know what they want to do with “the rest of their lives,” but Jim Maguire at 73 has been working on Wall Street all these years and still loves it. Maguire, one of the New York Stock Exchange’s most reputable specialists also has his three sons involved in the business. Organized chronologically and told through interviews, fascinating old film clips, and still photos, as well as Jim’s first person narrative, this video is the history of Wall Street since 1949. Famous names that appear include Ronald Reagan, and interviews with Warren Buffet and Dick Grasso help develop the full picture of Jim Maguire and the social, economic, political, and technological changes that occur and have occurred on Wall Street.

The editing is judicious, and the production is of excellent quality throughout, including both the documentary-style interviews and the old film segments. The combination of interviews, film footage, and voice-over narration is compelling and well executed. This video is recommended for academic libraries and would checkout in public library settings as well.
