Her face obscured due to fear of reprisal from Muslims, a Palestinian Christian woman laments that Muslims have warned her “after Saturday, comes Sunday.” She explains that once the Muslim authorities have dealt with the Jews, they will deal with the Christians. The persecution of Christians in the Palestinian territories has been a non-story, however the images of the vandalism of the Church of the Nativity by the Palestinians besieged there in 2002, the Palestinian media’s glorification of the martyrdom of children, and the murder of Muslims who convert to Christianity are among the many disconcerting incidents shown in this production. The film consists largely of interviews with people from across the spectrum – Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, and Jew. Sub-titles are provided for non-English portions. A female narrator gives overall context to many of the views presented. This documentary does not have the well-polished look of a larger budget production, but it does communicate its message well. This work will be seen as controversial, but it should be seen by all interested in events in the Middle East.
