This film highlights the works of young British artists that have been collected and displayed by Charles Saatchi. Artist interviews are brief, and they discuss their current work including the social commentary included. Examples of their work done in mediums including oil painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, and photography are beautifully photographed and showcased. Artists like Gary Hume, Damien Hirst, Peter Doing, Sarah Lucas, Jenny Saville, and Richard Billingham are included in the video. Lucas’ food sculptures and Grayson Perry’s vases are particularly innovative and thought provoking.

Video technique and effects are outstanding, and though the sound adds another dimension to the visual effects, it is not always clear. Editing is judicious and effective, moving the viewer through the gallery and resulting in a film suitable for adults of all ages. This production does contain mature themes and explicit language and imagery which make it inappropriate for children. Academic and public libraries should purchase to inspire students, artists, and collectors of art.
