This 3-volume DVD collection traces the Arthurian tradition by examining the legend of King Arthur through various medieval stories and manuscripts that have survived since the Middle Ages. The three titles of the DVDs are: Malory's Le Morte D’Arthur; Anatomy of a Legend; Understanding Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; and The Legend of Arthur in Literature and Popular Culture. Each DVD looks at the legend through the literary record, and has numerous medieval scholars who participate in discussing and examining the Arthurian legend through these stories. The first two DVDs explore the Arthurian legend through two of its main literary records, and the third DVD explores popular culture in the 21st century and where the Arthurian legend stands today. A fascinating series that can be used individually or in the classroom for literature and language classes at the undergraduate or graduate level.
