If you are looking for an unbiased, objective documentary on the first six years of the new millennium, then the XXI Century is not the one for you. From September 2002 to May 2003, the filmmakers interviewed scores of prominent individuals “to understand the era in which we are living and to try to put together the many pieces of a complicated puzzle.” They missed the mark by not including any views of those who would disagree with the dominant viewpoint presented. The film focuses primarily on American foreign policy and the Bush Administrations. A better title would be - Failures of the United States, Its Allies, and Their Leaders.

Beginning with the 2000 Presidential Election, the film presents a frightening view of American politics, the military, and the mainstream media. The film covers September 11th, the Patriot Act, the wars in Iraq, the Iraq and Vietnam anti-war protests, the draft, mainstream media’s willingness to serve as propaganda agents for the Bush Administration, the United Nations, American foreign policy, colonialism, history of the Middle East, and human rights.

This film is well made and the quality of the audio and video are very good. It raises very important issues. Hopefully, this film will spark more interest in the subject matter, intellectual debate, and further exploration of the issues raised.
