This video, part of the Exploring Shakespeare series, looks at the Stratford Festival production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The viewer is allowed to see the production of this Shakespeare play from start to finish. The first few days of rehearsal and indepth interviews with actors and the director take up one-third of the film, various rehearsals and stages of preparation follow the opening section, and finally scenes from the actual performance are provided at the end of the video. Throughout this process, various individuals such as set director, costume designer, actors, and especially the director guide the viewer to an understanding of this particular production and performance of Shakespeare's play.

I highly recommend this video to high school through adult audiences in the areas of theatre and Shakespeare. It is a wonderful compilation of the entire process of producing and performing a Shakespeare play, with insights from the participants.
