Reviewed by Brad Eden, Ph.D., Head, Web and Digitization Services, University Libraries, University of Nevada, Las VegasThis video, part of the European Studies Series, examines the British colony of Gibraltar, which has been a strategic military position for Britain since the early 18th century, and is now being given back to Spain. The people of Gibraltar, however, are preparing a strong resistance, and this video shows their determination and reasons for wishing to remain a British colony. The role of the rock of Gibraltar in the 19th century colonial expansion of Britain, as well as its importance in both World Wars, is touched on as well. A very interesting study of perspectives both political and personal related to this topic.
