Having lost a mother to Alzheimer's Disease I was especially interested in viewing this video, and I wasn't disappointed.

This is a story of a middle aged, well educated mother of three who is struck down at an early age with Alzheimer's Disease. It is also the story of how Christine has learned to cope and function with the decline of memory and cognitive function. Christine, with the support of her husband Paul has decided not to give in, but embark on a journey of discovery as Christine asserts to show "people with dementia still have an emotional life, and have an identity".

Through Christine's eyes we see the frustration, the pain, the fear, but also the spirit of someone who refuses to give into despair. Christine's journey has not been without setbacks, but what she has accomplished is truly inspirational. While charting the progress of her condition, she has written two books, and lectured world wide. Her relationship with Paul is continually evolving and a model of care giving to others. Faced with the ultimate conclusion of her journey, Christine has chosen to rise above her condition, to learn from it and to inspire others to do the same.

I highly recommend this video to any health care professional, student or caregiver, and should be in every college or university library with programs dealing with the subject of Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.
