Willam Wegman has developed an interesting method to introduce young children to their basic numbers. In this DVD, Wegman’s well trained Weimaraners ‘act’ out the classic poem the “Twelve Days of Christmas.” The dogs dressed as people with human hands follow along the spoken narration. The delivery is reminiscent of Fred Rogers in Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Children who enjoy canines will take readily to production. The Twelve Days also includes highlights of other counting opportunities. Occasionally the sequence of events slows down and the presentation becomes somewhat unexciting. Recommended with reservations.
