Recent graduates from high school or college are the target audience for this film. Advice on searching for a job is presented through the story of Bethany, who has moved from a small town to New York City with a theater degree, and is looking for an acting job.

Although this portrays a job search for a very specific career, the advice provided could be used by any job-seeker; of course, aspiring actors would feel the most affinity with the situation. Bethany is shown meeting with professionals, such as a casting director and a photographer, who give her – and the audience – advice on the professional approach to seeking employment.

Most of the film consists of live action, with some voiceovers. A few black-and-white stills are interspersed. Occasionally graphics appear, with information on how to construct a resume, where to look for jobs, and how to interview. These graphics are very clear and provide a point-by-point list for viewers. In the main part of the film, Bethany works on her resume, makes phone calls, looks at ads, and goes on auditions in her quest for an acting job. Her story and attitude are positive. Good quality video and audio give the film a professional look.

A teacher's resource book accompanies the VHS tape or DVD, with even more information on resumes, cover letters, follow-up notes, and tips on using the Internet and networking. There are many student activities included, too. With much advice on searching for a job, this film would make a good addition to a high school or college career center or counselor's office.
