Reviewed by Charmaine Henriques, Northwestern University Library, Evanston, ILRenowned Chilean/ Latin American author Isabel Allende gives a single camera interview where she briefly speaks of her early life and motivations to become a writer. She references her works and how she is biographically and emotionally connected to the characters she creates. However, most of the 25 minutes is dedicated to the author providing avid and intellectual insight into far reaching topics such as religion, growing violence, fundamentalism, feminism, aging, and immigration in the United States.

Not only is she a popular writer but a sensitive and perceptive humanist who tries to present a central voice for world impacting issues.
