This feature length documentary is an enjoyable watch that spans the life, times and accomplishments of George Westinghouse, here touted as America’s greatest industrialist. In thirty six chapters we get to see and hear about the early life of Westinghouse; the evolution of his air brake; the rise of Westinghouse factories; his partnership with Nikola Tesla; and the “war of the currents.” This title is a new edition to the Minutes of History series produced by Inecom. The soundtrack is lively and enjoyable and reflects the era however the constant music during interviews is distracting. Carol Lee Espy is the narrator and her voice is easy to listen to. The first part of the film is absorbing and informative however as the film moves along to events after the death of Westinghouse it focuses on the company and becomes more like a promotion for the Westinghouse Company. The pictures and film clips are excellent in this high- definition film. Recommended especially for American studies or American history.
