In a relationship it is the responsibility of both parties to avoid pregnancy. This film’s main purpose is to deter young people from having unprotected sex and to consider abstinence. The myths about sex and contraception are disclosed and statistical data and facts are presented.

Viewers are introduced to two young families with children, a teenage single mother and teen couple. Both parties engage in a conversation about their struggles and how being teen parents has dramatically changed their personal lives. For those who already have children, it can be used as a motivational piece. In addition, a college student openly discusses her decision to practice abstinence.

I recommend this film be viewed in sex education classes and counseling sessions. The accompanying student activities and facts sheets are a welcome addition to the program that reinforces material observed and can lead to a discussion session. I also recommend that this film be shown in conjunction with Thinking About Abstinence, a film distributed by Human Relations Media.
