This program covers the stages of labor. In addition to an animated graphic presentation, new mothers share their personal experiences of labor and delivery. The reality of the situation was apparent; participants were shown in their homes, at doctor’s appointments and during childbirth. An actual birth is shown.

The use of layman terms to describe the medical terms is beneficial to the young viewer as well as just listening to the participants describe what they were feeling during each stage. It is recommended that this film be shown in intervals because the program is too lengthy and viewers’ attention may go astray. This program introduces the concept of breastfeeding, which opens the door to Better Breastfeeding: A Guide for Teen Parents,, another program from InJoy Productions.

This reviewer recommends this program with reservations because the animated graphics are very distasteful. Also, it would be beneficial to compare it to the previous edition.
