Reviewed by Brad Eden, Associate University Librarian for Technical Services and Scholarly Communication, University of California, Santa BarbaraPart of the Performing Arts Series, Level 2 and geared towards teens to adults, this film is a dramatic fantasy/satire based on the play Einstein by Gabriel Emanuel. Peter Boretski portrays Einstein, the 70-year-old scientist, as he recalls his life and experiences with a young girl, Sarah. He talks about his troubled childhood, his years in Switzerland, and his philosophy on atomic energy. He discusses his decision to help the United States create the atomic bomb, something that he seriously regrets having done. But Sarah's innocence and friendship helps Einstein to see hope for the future. This dramatic portrayal of Einstein is a great introduction to the man and his effect on 20th century technology and science for anyone who wishes to know more about this intelligent and troubled scientist.
