Virginia Fry, Bereavement Care Coordinator from Hospice Bereavement Center lends the authority needed, along with Kathy Pelletier, School Guidance Counselor to this video depicting a meeting of Daughter’s Mourning Dads support group. It consists of two easily navigable segments of 28 and 47 minutes. The first is simply the filming of an actual support group meeting in which two sisters, the two adults and two other girls tell their stories of loss. The meeting takes place in a home, with the participants seated at a round table. The second segment replays this footage broken up with analytical information provided by the aforementioned authorities, allowing the viewer to find understanding of the grief process. Definitions of grief and bereavement and the stages of healing and the importance to the bereaved are emphasized. Film sound and video quality are excellent and a discussion guide is available at the Hospice Volunteer Services website.
