Motivating People in Today's Workplace is another human resources/supervisory product from the very successful and well-known CareerTrack series. The subtitle of this product states "creating the internal motivators and external rewards that make your people more involved, enthusiastic, and productive."

Volume 1 deals with the two types of motivators: extrinsic such as money, benefits, recognition, etc.; and intrinsic such as meaningfulness, impact, choice, and competence. Intrinsic motivation is the main focus of this series, since training supervisors to provide this type of support in the workplace today is becoming more and more important. Volume 2 examines an employee case study, how to evaluate and survey employees regarding intrinsic motivators, and banishing demotivators from the work environment. Volume 3 examines a company case study, how instrinsic motivation was incorporated and is a part of the internal structure of the company, and how to maintain motivational factors. The workbook provided with this product is essential for the effective training and retention of information from the videos.

Always impressive, CareerTrack products are on target and this series is no exception. Instrinsic motivation in the workplace has become more important as companies deal with downsizing, employees that work harder for less money, and the transitory job market. This video series is an excellent training tool for supervisors and managers in all venues. Highly recommend for this purpose, as well as management classes in the educational and corporate environments.
