The Raging Grannies are an international grassroots organization with over sixty “gaggles” worldwide. Their aim is to create a better world for our children and grandchildren by demonstrating a sense of outrage, a sense of humor and a commitment to non-violence. Not to be confused with the Red Hat Society this organization has no dues, no officers, but they do wear “granny garb” at their demonstrations worldwide and they have a Raging Grannies International website where there are instructions on how to organize. Started in Canada in the late eighties the group has a worldwide following and have appeared on television talk shows. This film was fun to watch and could be used in social studies or political science classes studying protest groups or as a primer on how to get a local group activated. Recommended.
