Every year the 2008 Brower Youth Awards (part of the Earth Island Institutes) recognizes 6 outstanding young adults who have committed themselves to environmental projects and causes. Named after environmentalist David Brower, and considered to be North America's top environmental prize for young adults, the 2008 recipients represent diversity in race, gender, goals and projects. But what they all have in common are their passion, and obvious and vocal initiative for all things related to saving the planet and mankind.

This compilation of short winner profiles gives students a taste of what their peers are involved in and will hopefully inspire them to action in their own communities. Inspiring and informative, The Brower Youth Awards is of good quality in terms of video, audio and editing components, and is recommended. This film best suited for school libraries, and compliments curriculum units on environmental studies and volunteerism.
