This documentary looks at the final months of the Moraine, Ohio GM plant and ends when the last vehicle rolls off an assembly line and 2500 workers are left jobless. The employees feel that the plant closed not because of their lack of productivity but due to the arrogance and incompetence of management and unbridled corporate greed. In interviews the workers express their frustration that we can't just close the borders, then make, sell and buy our own goods and damn the global economy. These revealing emotional interviews show that workers considered themselves more family than colleagues, and the film shows the emotional toll of losing not just a job, but a sense of self.

The timeliness of releasing the documentary is extraordinary. Video techniques and effects are excellent, well-planned and executed. Editing of the scenes in the factory and the interviews is reasonable and effective. The total effect of the film is interesting, emotional, and clear. This DVD is suitable for high school and college students as well as adults, and libraries of all types will want to provide for interested viewers.
