Recycling, Part 4 in the Eco Company Series provides five distinct topics for the viewer. The first topic shows the recycling process after the recyclables are delivered to the sorting plant. The four R’s – reduce, reuse, recycle and rot are highlighted in the second part. The third section profiles an artist who creates wearable art out of used candy wrappers. Next, an out of the box thinking lunch lady shows how a school can serve organic healthy food and have an herb garden. Finally, bicycles made out of bamboo are discussed and demonstrated. Between each topic, there are factoids and helpful hints on reducing one’s carbon footprint.

The video is hosted by a group of teens making the piece very relatable to its intended audience. Each teen is well spoken and appears very at ease on camera.

The photography and editing are professionally done and everything and everyone appear crisp and sharp. The music fits perfectly with the green theme of the film. Good hosts who act naturally are essential and this piece has them.

Watching this reminds one of a program that would be on during a Saturday morning. It seems that the format of the video would lend itself more appropriately to that avenue rather than a DVD.

This film is recommended for the intended audience. Teens will relate to the hosts and are provided a few things they can do themselves to make the world greener. High school media centers would most benefit by including this in their collection.
