A deliberately meandering exploration of Latin American cultures, this documentary focuses on the historical and continuing abuse of indigenous peoples such as the Quechua and Aymara and of women, particularly in Ciudad Juarez. While the length and lack of focus may make it a challenge to play the entire film for classroom use, the intimate look at these problems is informative and moving and each section is distinct enough that instructors could select particular vignettes relevant to their needs. Recommended for libraries collecting materials about Latin America.
