Reviewed by Michael Fein, Coordinator of Library Services, Central Virginia Community College, Lynchburg, VAThis is a recording of a lecture that the esteemed Lewis gave in February 2007 to an audience at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. As a part of the panel discussion there was a showing of the controversial film Obsession (which is not shown in this production). Lewis gives a broad historical context to the menace of present day radical Islam and points the historical ties between the Nazis and the Palestinian leadership in the 1940s. The production quality of this is, at best, uneven. The sound, while acceptable in the latter part of the production, for the first few minutes is unacceptable. Those who appreciate C-Span will probably receive the most benefit form this production. Most do not like lectures, or at least recordings of them and so the audience for this work may be somewhat limited, which is a shame because the subject matter is quite pertinent for today. Those institutions which want to go into the topic of radical Islam in depth should at least consider it.
