Most Valuable Players is a charming film about high school theatre. The film follows three Lehigh Valley area high schools on their road to the 2008 Freddy awards which are presented by the State Theatre in Easton, Pennsylvania. Two schools are preparing to perform Les Miserables, while the third is presenting Bye Bye Birdie. We see snippets of the rehearsals, performances, and behind-the-scenes activities.

Through interviews with the student actors, their teacher directors, and the Freddy award organizers, viewers see the talent, skill, teamwork, and camaraderie put into these theatrical productions. All with much less funding and attention than is given to sports teams.

Production values are excellent with HD cameras used throughout the film. DVD includes 15 minutes of additional scenes.

Highly recommended for theatre departments, teacher education programs, and fans of Glee and High School Musical.
