Conversations in Mizusawa is produced in association with the documentary Can’t Go Native? which showcases six real-life conversations in Mizusawa, Japan. Dr. Keith Brown, a Japanese Studies professor, spent the past five decades in the city researching Japanese kinship. He will take the audience to experience different scenes as part of his life in Japan, including a railway station shop, a bike shop, city hall, a liquor store and two friends’ houses. Each dialog comes with English subtitles, unscripted and natural. The DVD is recommended for advanced Japanese language students who wish to learn practical communication skills.
