This DVD is a compilation of film clips, interviews, remembrances, and events surrounding the life and work of Carl Jung (1875-1961), whose seminal work in psychology are well known. As a colleague of Sigmund Freud early in the 20th century, Jung parted ways with Freudian theory in 1909 and established his own school of modern-day psychology which explored the deep workings of the mind, what came to be called the "collective unconscious." Jung's work has inspired many current movements, including New Age, interest in the I Ching, and mythological similarities between cultures. Interviews with close colleagues and relatives are interspersed with his own words and writings. The film is divided into three parts: Introduction, 1918, and 1950. An excellent introduction and primary source film on one of the founders of modern-day psychology.
