This film examines some of the most active and well-known volcanoes in the world: those in Hawaii. Questions regarding the intense volcanic activity on the Hawaiian islands has always centered on how deep below the surface is the lava, and does this affect the intensity and frequency of eruptions? There is some wonderful footage contained in this film, and the animation sequences built around the explanations and the scientific evidence are astounding. Sure to please the viewer, a lot of information is packed into the 27 minutes of this film. I highly recommended this DVD for jr. high audiences and above science classes—great to watch and fun too!
