In this feature length documentary, writer and director, Jon Cooksey uses a unique blend of comedy and facts, as well as the incorporation of personal and expert interviews, to make complex environmental issues easier to understand and more accessible. The first portion of this documentary addresses five major problems: Overpopulation; The War on Nature; Income Inequality; Peak Oil and Global Warming. After a brief introduction to these issues, Cooksey offers, what he believes to be, five solutions to these problems for families and individuals, as a way to help to turn things around. These five solutions include: Drive Pass Exxon; Change Your Life Bulbs; Change of Heart; Giant Killer and Transition. The cinematography and sound quality of this film are excellent. In addition to promoting both awareness and actions, this documentary also offers a “64 page multi-disciplinary guide for high school to college classes” mirroring “the funny and colorful style of the movie”. The film does have a PG 13 Advisory for some language and scenes. This documentary with its entertaining yet serious message regarding the future of our world would make a great addition to any library, public or academic, or classroom collection.
