Inspired by his childhood, Patrick Doylon tells the story of a young boy trapped by his childhood routine of going to church and visiting his grandparents’ house on Sunday afternoons. Bored by the adult world, he ventures outside to elongate coins on the railroad tracks. This imaginative tour of the young boy’s small world reveals many surprises and mishaps along the way.

Sunday/Dimanche was painstakingly illustrated by hand and is accompanied by a gleefully, whimsical soundtrack. Patrick Doyon’s use of “old school” animation techniques and lively storytelling would make this a fantastic addition to any course that discusses animation techniques, death and dying, or film studies.
