This documentary explores the many companies that have come to prominence in medical tourism over the years in producing surrogates for couples seeking children. The film does a wonderful job of interviewing these individuals that run medical tourism companies to allow them to explain how their company works and the benefits of using them. The strength of this documentary is allowing the viewer to make their own judgment on the ethical practices of all sides in the matter. Interviewing the surrogate shows an unseen side to this process of medical tourism that allows people to see why they would go through nine months of pregnancy for money. The weakness of the documentary is that they do not delve more into the aspects of the dispensing of monetary payout for the surrogate. Each side says a different amount that the surrogate gets paid but I would liked to have seen tougher questions asked by the film makers about that. The camera work and soundtrack blend well with the scenes to produce a well-paced documentary.

Made in India is great documentary that shows a rising trend in medical tourism that many people are just reading about now. This film explains how it works and the drama associated with bringing home new born babies from a foreign land. This is a highly recommended film with great insight into an emerging international trend.
