Every parent is eventually confronted with a sneezing, feverish, and/or vomiting child and worries about if and when to call the doctor. This brief overview of common childhood illnesses is for just those dreaded moments. Organized into 6 short chapters focusing on such conditions as ear infections, common cold and gastrointestinal illnesses, Common Childhood Illnesses features pediatric healthcare professionals calmly discussing the signs of illness, treatment or supportive care and prevention relative to that condition. Each chapter runs about 5 minutes long, and viewers can look at each separately rather than consecutively. The production values are good and the directors are careful to reflect a diverse view of children, parents and care providers. Common Childhood Illnesses would make a good addition to any core consumer health collection.
