The short video is an eye-opening glimpse into the world of prescription drugs and how they’ve gotten out of control within communities in the United States. “Eighty percent of synthetic opiate prescription drugs in the world are prescribed in America”. Other alarming statistics are presented by professionals as the research-based film unfolds.

The format is straightforward and appeals to young audiences. In addition, the DVD purposefully highlights recovering teens that tell personal stories, re-live their experiences, and share how they received help to kick their addictions.

Human Relations Media provides the best support for teachers by including a Teacher’s Resource Book and introductions to other similar products that focus on related topics. The film can be a great tool to prompt student-centered discussions and can be an added value for any library collection.
