This short take offers a unique perspective on the life cycle of the endangered sea turtle and its surrounding environments. Even though the film is brief, it tells a concise story of the process. Viewers are drawn in by eye-catching animated sequences of stop-motion which are full of vibrant colors of beach scenes and the ocean floor habitat.

The film is highly recommended for any library and can be used with much younger audiences as a quick introduction to similar themes focusing on science. Because the film is of high quality and has a creative, but skillful approach to storytelling, older students or film enthusiasts can also benefit from the storytelling process.

A Sea Turtle Story won the 2013 Golden Apple Audience choice award for Best Animated film at ZLIN International Film festival in the Czech Republic.
