Unit 7 is a 2012 film that portrays the Spanish police officers cleaning up the streets of Seville, Spain before the beginning of the 1992 World’s Fair. The storyline shows the arc of the hardened police officer and the rookie learning on the job. The cinematography is impressive with the grit of the streets coming through the screen. The locations make for great action sequences such as roof to roof jumps and narrow alleyway chases.

The drawbacks of this film are that it is not a documentary nor is it based on any real person. I have to take the filmmakers at their word that events like this have happened or close to it. The film makes for a great crime picture but I can’t tell if this is historical fiction. This is why I am recommending this with reservations.
