Fred Downes, Jr., a Vietnam veteran who lost an arm to a landmine, visits Cambodia to outline the problems caused by landmines left by the Vietnam war and the subsequent civil war in Cambodia. He interviews land mine victims in an attempt to learn what impact their injuries have had on their lives. Downes visits a prosthetic device clinic, a homegrown manufacturer of wheelchairs, and a land mine museum. He talks with various people who aid landmine victims, including the director of an enterprise employing disabled persons, which raises silkworms and produces finished silk products.

A useful program for high schools and colleges showing the human toll taken by land mines and the steps taken by one third world country to rebuild the shattered lives of victims. Recommended
