This story examines the modern dynamics of agriculture in a number of Latin American countries. The dialogue is Aymara, Spanish, Portuguese and Galician with English subtitles. Through a series of conversations the viewer learns about produce markets in Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela and Spain and the people who raise the produce and get it onto consumers’ tables. The conversational style is deceptively simple, in that by listening carefully to seemingly off-the-cuff dialogue the viewer begins to realize the complexity of a process that we all profit from and seldom think about.
