Andrew a professional musician finds himself in the hospital facing the possibility of a life threatening disease. Following a diagnostic surgical procedure Andrew inexplicably suffers a circulatory system collapse which leaves him comatose and fighting for his life. Wendy helplessly standing by watching her husband slip away does the one thing that medicine couldn’t. She puts the headphones to his ipod on him and presses play.
Music is a universal means of communication speaking to all ages and nationalities. It can affect a mood, change the atmosphere in the room and in this case save a life. Music therapy used in combination with traditional medicine has many associated benefits. Andrew now healthy visits the hospital several times a week to play music for the patients in the ICU.
