Gauchos Del Mar (Cowboys of the Sea) is the nickname for surfer brothers Julian and Jaoquin Azula who produced, edited and directed this work of art. They left Los Angeles, CA with $1,500 in their pocket and a dream to travel to the southernmost point of South America, Patagonia, in search of waves on which to surf. Tierra de Patagones is a documentary of their adventure.

This movie is recommended for students in sustainability curriculums, biology, and culture studies. Students learning cinematography and editing will find much to emulate.

This is not your typical road trip. “Tierra De Patagones: The Most Beautiful, Life Affirming Trip You Will Ever Vicariously Take” says Inertia.com. This is a nature film. It’s a film about sustainability. It’s a film about making your dreams come true. You could even classify it as a cowboy movie.

The film brings to life the poem it is based upon. You meet interesting indigenous people along the way. It's one of the best road trip movies ever. It's the best surfing movie I've ever seen. Jaw dropping cinematography. Wonderful sound track. Editing perfection. Sit back and enjoy stunning, mesmerizing beauty at a relaxed pace. You won't see a huge curl. It doesn't matter.

You bought that huge, high definition screen to watch this movie - a polished gem in a magnificent setting.
