This film documents a three-year journey, exploring the care a son takes for his mother (Flore) who has been diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease. It is an intimate portrayal of the care and dignity of a human person. Flore was admitted a number of different medical institutions in order to afford her the best care and treatment. Leviere makes the decision to move his mom back to Corsica, where she comes out of her “stupor,” even to the point of being able to walk on her own, paint, swim, and even smile. This film should be viewed by persons in health care and social work, and any others who work with Alzheimers patients and their families.
