This film tells the story of traveling custom harvesters, crews of families who live in trailers for months in order to help harvest wheat and other crops all over America. Their season usually begins in May and can last all the way through November each year. Why do they do this unusually hard and dangerous work? Because they know that their work helps to bring food to the table for millions of people in the U.S. and around the world. This lifestyle, so important to many farmers around the country who depend on this workforce to help them during harvest-time, is slowly disappearing as each new generation of harvesters decides that the hard work isn't worth the pay. The special features section of the DVD includes outtakes and deleted scenes, John Deere's Gold-Key Tour, the North Dakota Mill, C&B Operations, and JKD Crew interviews. Truly an inspirational and newsworthy story that deserves more attention and support from Americans everywhere.
