Dance teachers work with their students, often daily, often over years. Through this work, they develop an intimate relationship with the body, and eventually, the body evolves. So it is not surprising that actor turned dancer Gregg Mozgala and choreographer Tamar Rogoff have been able to achieve what no doctor had previously been able to do: radically change how Gregg’s cerebral palsy affects his body.

Enter the Faun is a significant documentary that captures the infrequently shown daily minutiae of the dancer-teacher relationship. This relationship, and the film, begins when Tamar casts Gregg in the role of the Faun for her dance piece Diagnosis of a Faun. During the course of rehearsals leading up to the performance of the piece, Gregg talks about the challenges of working with his body, including why doctors had never achieved what he and Tamar have.

Enter the Faun is suitable for all library collections for adults, and recommended for university and college libraries that support dance, physical therapy and disability studies.
