Reviewed by Rodney Birch, Reference Librarian, George Fox UniversityIn the past decade, there has been a heightened awareness of the issue of childhood obesity and the long-term health-related consequences that result from obesity. Schools across the United States have restructured menus, removed soda and snack machines from their campuses, and revamped the physical education and fitness component of the curriculum to help fight this epidemic. Bite Size, follows the journeys of four teenagers as they come to terms with their obesity and work to overcome it in their lives. Additionally, the film captures the struggles of family members as they also come to terms with having an obese child. Bite Size concludes with some helpful tips for healthy living. This film would be a good addition to the library collections that support programs in health, social work, and youth studies.
