After watching this production twice, this reviewer is still trying to figure out what the purpose, let alone the message, of this film is meant to be. Towards the end of the production the viewer is given a view of Zombies and how the U.S. military is studying zombie outbursts and how to react to them in order to train future officers in operations planning. “World War Z” author Max Brooks is interviewed and is shown giving lectures. Maybe watching Brad Pitt in the movie adaptation of Brooks’ novel would be time better spent. It certainly is more entertaining. Even the film’s website is difficult to use. There is an accompanying .pdf study guide to this production which can be printed via computer access. The guide functions as something of a Rosetta Stone for the film, but still does not redeem the film. Not recommended.
