Red wolves are on the edge of extinction. Having lost almost all of their natural habitat to humans, which also violently hunt them down, these animals find themselves being assisted by a small group of scientists who are trying to reintroduce them into the wild.

This film documents reintroduction efforts and explains how difficult it is politically to plan, finance and execute such a program. Friction among government agencies makes the future look grim for red wolves.

The target audience is those who care about restoring endangered species, red wolves in particular, as well as those who may be opposed to such efforts in the hope that they will understand the significance of the work being done to preserve the few animals that remain.
